felted knit kitty bed

I made this bed for my kitty awhile ago, but thought I'd post it incase anyone wanted to make one too. I just love seeing my cat enjoy it so much. I used this great pattern. If you go see the pattern, take a look at the gallery; oh my, such gorgeous cats and beds! I hope to make another one using the Noro Big Kureyon yarn as the pattern calls for. Mine didn't felt very much, hence the large size, b/c the yarn wasn't pure wool. I just used two old sweaters I had as I loved the yarn and couldn't bare to throw I re-purposed them into this. The black yarn I believe was mohair and the cream was handspun wool. Oh and some novelty yarn was just added to the last rows of stitching.
For added comfort, I took black and cream roving and felted it into a thick matt for the bottom. It's solid cream on the other side, so gives two different looks. If anyone else decides to make one, I'd love to hear about it!

A Tisket, A Tasket BOM #4 done

Managed to finally get this BOM done. I forgot to line the light fabrics though; ugh! And couldn't seem to get the bunny's collar on without fraying, so opted for the bow. Now on with either my Mod Sampler quilt, quilt for my son, or two other BOM ones in embroidery, A Christmas Wish, and Verandah Views, that I'm thinking of starting. So many great sewing groups out there, it's hard to decide what to do first!

mod sampler quilt top done

Well, the sashing on this took me alot longer than I thought it would. But Elizabeth mentioned that it's key to a nice looking quilt in the end, so I took my time with it and enjoyed it.

Now on with piecing the back, which I'm looking forward to seeing how that turns out.
