I've been in the decluttering mood lately and have been doing really well with either giving things away or throwing them away. But I need help to keep going as there is much in this house to toss! So I was happy to join in Vanessa's challenge of decluttering.
What I tackled was my two year old's room. She's at the stage of wanting to dress herself and much of what she could reach, was too small for her so she was getting frustrated. Plus her drawers were a mess so we couldn't find things easily. So this is what I did:
-removed all clothes from closet that were too small.
-arranged it with summer clothes on the bottom where she can reach them, and winter clothes and 'clothes to grow into', up top.
-arranged them by clothing item.
-removed all things from the floor of the closet.
-change table now only has her cloth diapers, covers and cloth wipes. It had held lots of clothes that were too small.
-dresser now has only socks, hats and pj's in it.
-sheets that had been in the closet are now kept in a bin under her crib.
-sheets for the other bed in the room are now kept in the drawers under it...helps to thin out my linen closet.
The pic is of the finished closet. Yes, it may look like alot of clothes for a little one, but most have been given to us from a friend, who I'll return them to, once she's outgrown them. And by having all the clothes now in the closet, I can keep an eye on them better as to when she might fit them.
Now I have some hefty bags to give back to my friend who will pass them onto someone else. And now when I open the closet, things don't come tumbling out at me.
Anyways, that's my decluttering for the last few days. I'm looking forward to seeing what other's accomplish too on Friday.
Off to tackle the kid's toys now...
